THE GENERAL night two Instead of waking up in the jungle, you wake up elsewhere. This is the square where The General comes to decide what to do, and Ivan patiently sits on a bench, though she's as impassive as ever to what's going on. Each of you has your own foxhound who's barking happily to welcome you back. They'll help you find who you choose to hunt tonight. After all, you're saving them. You have a little while to discuss who you'll hunt tonight, but don't linger too long, since you only have until dawn. rulebook character statuses profiles All night votes will be due 8/14 by 5PM EST

[ Once one vote is cast, there's suddenly the sound of heels on pavement walking their way. Ivan's eyes widen in alarm, and she quickly stands as she pulls the same pistol she presents in that box every night out of her suit jacket. Though she has a timid personality overall, it seems like she's ready to use it. Yet the barrel drops as soon as she sees who it is.

It looks exactly like Ivan, or at least someone that looks very much like her. They could be twins, actually, but Ivan suddenly looks afraid. She opens her mouth to question it, but the other woman speaks up first. ]

Relax. Just sit down, puppet.

[ "Ivan" makes a motion with her hand, and it seems like Ivan is forced to sit back down rather than being given a choice. This new woman smiles at the group of Generals, though her smile doesn't seem very nice. ]

Shijima, really? You're just ruining all the fun. [ Her voice is mocking, but then she adds coldly, ] You can't vote for her.

[no seriously WHAT Gi-ne moves to stand in front of normal Ivan what the hell is going on?]

Who the hell are you?

[What the heck what the heck, Hinata's just looking between "Ivan" and Ivan before taking a step in front of the latter. He's not sure what he can do to protect her, but the intent is there nonetheless.]

[ Whatever! It's fine! Hijikata immediately pulls out his sword, IT'S FINE, REALLY! ]

[ She looks at them with a cruel, amused expression when they step in front of Ivan, but just scoffs. ]

Cute. I'd suggest putting the sword away, boy. It might just end up through you instead.

[ The woman crosses her arms, then smiles in a way that gives an impression that she's explaining something to children, like she's done so many times already. Ivan, on the other hand, is staring at her with wide eyes. ]

You can't vote for her. Vote for someone else.

[ Squints.

He doesn't put it away, but he puts it down. Still cautious, ya'know. ]

Answer my questions first. So, why?

Why not? No one said anything about not being able to vote for someone! What's so special about the cat?

She has a job to do.

[ She shrugs dismissively, then looks at Ivan. ]

It's just my luck that I would get stuck with one of the soft-hearted leftovers. Why can't I get someone creative? [ She sighs, like this is a true trouble for her, then looks back to them. ] Shijima did a beautiful job with Ema, didn't she? She'll do a great job as an Overseer.

You've got to be fucking kidding. Kurookano's responsible for that!?

Does she have any other role? Are you asking us to sign our death warrants just so you can watch people suffer?

[Found their carver on night two by picking pretty much at random. Score.]

No, wait- what does that have to do with anything? This isn't really a game, we're doing this for a reason!

[ Sheathes his sword... Happy now other Ivan? This is ridiculous! Although, looking at the first Ivan, with a pistol in her hand... ]

She's serious. Geez...

Another General... But she hasn't even killed anyone, not really...

[A General whose job it is to just cut up bodies??]

[ Crosses arms. ]

I was right. It was someone's idea of a cruel joke. A tasteless one at that.

We have no choice but to go with a different vote, huh. [ He doesn't WANT to but... Do you see how angry he is!!! Upset! Who is this Ivan, to him! ]

[She doesn't like the sound of this Zaroff business.]

But... Fine. Tonight we'll pick someone else.

So what - you want us to let Shijima live so she can go on chopping up corpses?! That's bullcrap! She's one of the people we have to hunt in this ridiculous game of yours, isn't she?

Of course she is.

[ She laughs ]

But how are you going to tell anyone about it? "Oh, you see, Shijima is totally a murderer, and I know because when I went to the meeting with The General last night, a woman that looked just like our cute, pathetic little Ivan came and told me so." Wouldn't that be great? I hope you do. I'd love to see one of you get lynched. Do you know how much faster things go once they realize there's more than one General? It's fun too. That kind of bloodlust is wonderful to watch.

None of us would have planned to tell anyone about it, but why can't we go with our initial vote?

Are there any other rules we must know of to play this twisted game? Shall you stop us every time we make a decision you do not like?

[ She rolls her eyes, then sighs as she gets to the explanation, but it sounds like it's a chore to her. ]

Shijima is one of those fun, unlisted roles that I put in the rulebook. She's Zaroff. She can hunt whenever and however she pleases, because she's been through more cycles of this than any of you, so it's about time she tried to escape. Did you ever wonder what happens if you voted for Ivan? She can't tell you, since I made sure of that, but don't forget that this is a judgement. Vote for the Overseer, and the game breaks. Everyone left alive will be forced to go through this cycle endlessly, because the judgement never finished. Shijima's first group did just that, and so did Ivan's here.

[ She looks to Ivan with a cruel smile. ]

The only way to escape that cycle is to kill the Overseer, since when that happens, Zaroff can take their place. Of course, I'm using "kill" loosely here. Ivan's soul will be destroyed, more accurately, since there's barely anything left of you by the time you become an Overseer.

But- why? Why would Shijima want to be the Overseer if she knows all that? Doesn't she want the judgement to finish?

... Also seriously, who the hell are you?

Not really. She's already outside of it. She doesn't give a damn about anyone but herself.

[ Her crosses her arms. ]

I'm the Judge. You're sending every person to me to make the judgement.

About... Whether or not they come back to life?

[Do they... want to leave that in this woman's hands...]

Oh, that's just perfect! All of us can be taken down at any time by her then, but the moment we try to take her down you waltz in and protect her?! Do you even want us to be successful then?!

[Orion watches only in shock as Ivan sits down, like a puppet obeying orders. He then grits his teeth and looks to the woman.]

You - are you the one Ivan spoke of? The one she works for?

[Ivan said the person she worked for was someone who couldn't leave where they are. But is that even true?]

[ He watches in astonishment, as an identical woman appears - rising to his feet, he holds up his hands; even if it seems as if her presence has caused the room to descend into chaos. ]

So we can't vote for her? My, that's a shame. At least tell us why, you know?
