graveyard.

You remember dying. In fact, you remember the exact feeling and fear of how you died, and yet in the next moment, you're suddenly standing in a cold room. You're not sure how you got here at all, but it's as if you were suddenly put here the moment after you died. As you look around, the first thing you'll notice is that you're standing in front of an open casket.

And you're inside.

The corpse inside the casket is definitely you, and it's also definitely dead, which certainly makes this confusing. Luckily, here's someone here to explain. When you wake up, there's footsteps walking closer, and then a familiar face appears. Iván is here, or someone that looks very much like her is. All she starts off with is two simple words—

"You're dead."

Which would seem obvious, but she explains that you have been before you ever arrived to the island. The shipwreck and the island are't real, after all. This is purgatory, and the Hunt is a way to judge the souls of the living. People show their true nature when they're put in a stressful situation, so it was deemed that this was the way that these judgements would be passed. She explains that you'll know your fate when the game ends, but if you really can't wait that long, you could always ask, but hope isn't lost. After all, the "killers" are on your side. If they can win the game, then everyone can come back to life. They know this, and it's why they're fighting so hard to win. It's a shame that the odds don't seem to be in their favor, but that's also part of the Hunt.

Exploring your new surroundings, you'll realize that you're likely at the bottom of that giant sinkhole, at least if that light far above you is any indication. You no longer feel the need to eat or sleep anymore (technically, you never did, but the habits of being alive are hard to break), so it's a good thing there's enough to do while the game continues.

You can watch the proceedings of the Hunt in one room where there's plenty of comfortable couches to sit in and lounge, as well as a fully stocked bar, if you feel like indulging. Another room offers a game room with cards, billiards, and any other games you'd like to play in a group. If you ask your host nicely, she might provide more, but for now, there's not much to do other than to watch and wait for the Hunt to end.

Ah...

[He's quiet for a moment, as if trying to process this information. He understands why now that he's finally arrived here but even so...]

No, they weren't. Tsurumaru got to enjoy telling me just how painful it would be, and... [He trails off. Bites his lip.] Regardless, I think that at least he should wind up here before he gets another chance to do that again.

[He shuts his eyes, angered at what he's hearing and sighs.]

Well I assure you, are group will give them a tongue lashing tonight. We don't approve of such morbidity. What happened to Ema and Stocking's bodies was done after we killed them, not during. Perhaps they thought it'd be clever to keep the gruesome note on.

That's hardly a punishment proportional to what he's done. [Horikawa wants Tsurumaru dead with them here. It's fine.] Though, it's better if everybody else didn't have to go through the same thing.

[personal profile] wartorns 2015-08-21 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
[He nods.]

I apologize for the end you received. Though I cannot wish his death considering the circumstance, I understand why you would want his demise for what he did to you.

[The Generals better not let those two go out together again dammit.]

...Ehhh, at least my kill was clean.

[ What's with all the sadistic killers on the home team this time. Granted, Shijima isn't an innocent flower or anything, but that makes two killers who apparently need keepers. ]
jyoshu: (35.)

[personal profile] jyoshu 2015-08-21 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
Mm, that's true. Really, I'm sorry that you were voted off, Shijima-san.

[Innocent flower or not you just have to be less totally life-ruining than Tsurumaru, and you're good. He offers a (very weak) smile to accompany his words.]
liven: (WHATEVER ► ask me if i care.)

[personal profile] liven 2015-08-21 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
It's fine...it's a little earlier than I usually get caught these days, but apparently the mafia got told about my role.

[ A shrug. She will just have to do better next time, though she obviously has never done well enough to win. ]

Unlike most of you, it's not my first time around.
jyoshu: (06.)

[personal profile] jyoshu 2015-08-21 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
It was just a bad situation. [at least she'll get another try???] From what I understand, you didn't necessarily do anything wrong. Though, it's good to see that you're alright, here.

[Her death didn't look very fun either.]
liven: (PHONE ► yes what is it.)

[personal profile] liven 2015-08-21 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
I did what I needed to do...though I am certain some would disagree with that.

[ casual shrug ]

It's nice to see you as well, I guess. One of your comrades killed you? [ ??? She didn't speak to that sword in particular, she doesn't think... ] That's poor luck.
jyoshu: (49.)

[personal profile] jyoshu 2015-08-21 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
Tsurumaru. [his eyes and his voice are VERY BITTER when he speaks. His grudge is real.] Worse than luck ー it felt more personal than that. But... [He'd rather change the topic.]

Ah? I'm surprised to hear that. I didn't really make the best first impression, did I? But Kiyomitsu-kun seemed to get along with you well..! [He tries again with the whole smiling thing.]
liven: (REMARK ► whatever don't care.)

[personal profile] liven 2015-08-21 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
[ yes she had CONSIDERED MURDERING HIM for the mop thing but went with Reimu instead... ]

I like Kashuu. [ That's easy enough to admit it's not like she has a reason to hide it from people who will all die soon anyway!! ] Ehhhh, I don't think any of your friends will suspect Tsurumaru, though...

[ swords seem to stick together...

she knew at least one of them had to be a killer ]
jyoshu: (04.)

[personal profile] jyoshu 2015-08-21 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
[And ironically enough he would probably not have been angry at all if that were the case. IF ONLY SHE'D SAVED HIM...]

He's a good sword, and he tends to be well-liked. [Even if he is a bit of a brat, too.] Ah, but you're probably right. Unless he acts suspiciously, there's no reason for them to think as much, though maybe it's for the better... Maybe the rest of them will find him, somehow?

[He doesn't remember a fox dying? They could pull through for Horikawa's petty grudge couldn't they?]
liven: (POINT ► as a matter of fact.)

[personal profile] liven 2015-08-21 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
[ she would have told him that was why him, too...it would have been great ok ]

It could be. Though it seems like the innocents didn't actually find a Fox - that was a General, telling Matt what he learned about my role.

[ SO THAT WAS A BUST. ]

...Though obviously the preferred outcome for all of you would be if the "Innocent" lost, anyway. So it's for the best if no one suspects your friend, even if his methods could use some work.
jyoshu: (21.)

[personal profile] jyoshu 2015-08-21 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
[UGH missed chances, missed chances... next time maybe Shijima will follow her gut instinct.]

Even so, I'm sure there must be at least one fox there. If they find one General before they're caught, themselves... Are the Generals so thin that losing one would mean game over, for them? [He's being very practical, as you can see. LET HIM DREAM...]

Hmm, if we do win though, does that mean that you won't have to play any more either?
liven: (DISCUSS ► or you could not.)

[personal profile] liven 2015-08-21 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
[ MAYBE...blame Kashuu for being likable, she decided not to kill his sword friend. ]

I don't believe so. They're only down one, after all, and the innocents are down rather more than that...as to your question, I don't know.

[ She doubts it because she's a cynic but YOU NEVER KNOW. ]
jyoshu: (45.)

[personal profile] jyoshu 2015-08-21 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
[Kashuu's charisma ruining things again it seems!! A cute reason not to, though.]

Right. So, there's a definite advantage, and it seems like they're clever enough. Though...

[CAN THE SAME BE SAID FOR THE VILLAGE? With Yamato's death, it's not appearing to be so. Do us proud, murder team (except for Tsuru).]

Well, in any case, I hope that it does. It may not mean much to say, but Kiyomitsu-kun tends to have a good sense of people, so I'd like better things for you as well.
liven: (HAIR ► twirl.)

...That's kind of you, anyway. With the bad luck of these foxes, it doesn't look as though your victory is far off...

[ seriously foxes have you even caught a single person

YOU DIDN'T EVEN CATCH SHIJIMA ]
jyoshu: (62.)

[personal profile] jyoshu 2015-08-24 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Our victory.

[He notes it to correct her. Let him have this SMALL SLICE OF OPTIMISM for her sake if not his own. He also reaches to pat her head momentarily, because even though Shijima does not seem the type to want nor need reassurance, her head is dry now so why not.]

We'll see, soon enough.

[personal profile] liven 2015-08-24 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
True enough. Trials are at least a little more relaxing when you're not in play any longer...we get to just watch.

[ LOOK FORWARD TO IT of course his first trial to watch is the strip trial. Shijima doesn't seem to mind the head pat, or doesn't do anything to impede it, anyway. ]
