graveyard.
![]() You remember dying. In fact, you remember the exact feeling and fear of how you died, and yet in the next moment, you're suddenly standing in a cold room. You're not sure how you got here at all, but it's as if you were suddenly put here the moment after you died. As you look around, the first thing you'll notice is that you're standing in front of an open casket. And you're inside. The corpse inside the casket is definitely you, and it's also definitely dead, which certainly makes this confusing. Luckily, here's someone here to explain. When you wake up, there's footsteps walking closer, and then a familiar face appears. Iván is here, or someone that looks very much like her is. All she starts off with is two simple words— "You're dead." Which would seem obvious, but she explains that you have been before you ever arrived to the island. The shipwreck and the island are't real, after all. This is purgatory, and the Hunt is a way to judge the souls of the living. People show their true nature when they're put in a stressful situation, so it was deemed that this was the way that these judgements would be passed. She explains that you'll know your fate when the game ends, but if you really can't wait that long, you could always ask, but hope isn't lost. After all, the "killers" are on your side. If they can win the game, then everyone can come back to life. They know this, and it's why they're fighting so hard to win. It's a shame that the odds don't seem to be in their favor, but that's also part of the Hunt. Exploring your new surroundings, you'll realize that you're likely at the bottom of that giant sinkhole, at least if that light far above you is any indication. You no longer feel the need to eat or sleep anymore (technically, you never did, but the habits of being alive are hard to break), so it's a good thing there's enough to do while the game continues. You can watch the proceedings of the Hunt in one room where there's plenty of comfortable couches to sit in and lounge, as well as a fully stocked bar, if you feel like indulging. Another room offers a game room with cards, billiards, and any other games you'd like to play in a group. If you ask your host nicely, she might provide more, but for now, there's not much to do other than to watch and wait for the Hunt to end. |

That was cute, what you did with the head. So sure. What do you want?

[ He pauses as he shuffles just a bit. ]
Is this really death? I understand longevity is something prized by humans but they aren't allowed to obtain it. Is this really what they gain in the end, once they die?
[ Hopefully she can answer this, even though there's probably someone staring at her. ]

Not always. This is where people that couldn't be judged normally come. And I think you lot definitely fit the bill. How does a sword even die?
[ I hope that's not the question you were getting at, Yamato, since you will be disappointed. ]

To be destroyed, you break my vessel and in moments.. this body should follow suit as my real form. I don't think we get to have the satisfaction of having a death like everyone else. [ His death didn't feel like one at all, it felt like getting rid of something. ]
This game.. a "hunt"? How are the people here selected. We're all different in various ways from time to how we appear so why were they.. we.. us.. chosen?

[ She's definitely pleasant to talk to, isn't she... ]
Sure. A question, though. Why did you bring back the head? Don't bullshit me.

[ She is! Well, Yamato has always been weird so this doesn't phase him that much, you know! ]
Also I have another question! But.. for that.. he is my comrade and I told him I would protect him so I did not want to leave him there. Even like that, I would try my best to watch over him.. [ Is that a good answer, he does wonder — he is a sword, things outside of that he doesn't understand much. ] I missed him. I wanted to protect him and I failed but I wanted another chance at it.. but I died. Even now, I still want to protect him. I want to be by his side. I hope that's not bullshit to you.

[ But listening to what Yamato says, her face stays impassive, but then she sighs and shakes her head. ]
Weird way to show it, if you ask me.
[ She shifts, putting a hand on her hip as she repeats something that sounds like she's said it a million times over—And maybe she has. ]
Since you arrived here, it wasn't clear where you should fall. Yamatonokami Yasusada, the judgement of the Hunt has decreed that you shall pass on to Hell.

[ But ah, a place that he isn't all too familiar with though those words were always partnered with negative connotations. His smile widens and he nods to himself as acceptance. ]
Ah, that's good. I can't wait to pass onto Hell, whenever that time may come. [ He's at ease while he thinks of another question. ]
For my letter, am I allowed to speak of the note that was given to me, the gun as well?
no subject
Nope. Don't want to ruin the surprise, since they'll be less likely to follow the suggestion if they know it's coming.
no subject
Hm. I see. Then I won't tell them, I guess following that suggestion leads you to Hell but I guess the living world is much more scarier than that, I hope they pursue the gift that the note gives.
no subject
Everyone so far has.
no subject
Does that mean people like Horikawa Kunihiro will go to Hell as well? [ He is his comrade and it wouldn't hurt to ask. ]
no subject
Not necessarily. It's all based on your actions during the Hunt.
[ She looks at her fingernails as if she's bored. ]
Using the Gunsmith's gun is generally not a good action.

Why did the Gunsmith choose who he chose? Why me and them?
