graveyard.

You remember dying. In fact, you remember the exact feeling and fear of how you died, and yet in the next moment, you're suddenly standing in a cold room. You're not sure how you got here at all, but it's as if you were suddenly put here the moment after you died. As you look around, the first thing you'll notice is that you're standing in front of an open casket.

And you're inside.

The corpse inside the casket is definitely you, and it's also definitely dead, which certainly makes this confusing. Luckily, here's someone here to explain. When you wake up, there's footsteps walking closer, and then a familiar face appears. Iván is here, or someone that looks very much like her is. All she starts off with is two simple words—

"You're dead."

Which would seem obvious, but she explains that you have been before you ever arrived to the island. The shipwreck and the island are't real, after all. This is purgatory, and the Hunt is a way to judge the souls of the living. People show their true nature when they're put in a stressful situation, so it was deemed that this was the way that these judgements would be passed. She explains that you'll know your fate when the game ends, but if you really can't wait that long, you could always ask, but hope isn't lost. After all, the "killers" are on your side. If they can win the game, then everyone can come back to life. They know this, and it's why they're fighting so hard to win. It's a shame that the odds don't seem to be in their favor, but that's also part of the Hunt.

Exploring your new surroundings, you'll realize that you're likely at the bottom of that giant sinkhole, at least if that light far above you is any indication. You no longer feel the need to eat or sleep anymore (technically, you never did, but the habits of being alive are hard to break), so it's a good thing there's enough to do while the game continues.

You can watch the proceedings of the Hunt in one room where there's plenty of comfortable couches to sit in and lounge, as well as a fully stocked bar, if you feel like indulging. Another room offers a game room with cards, billiards, and any other games you'd like to play in a group. If you ask your host nicely, she might provide more, but for now, there's not much to do other than to watch and wait for the Hunt to end.

[ There's a lot going on with Yamato right now as a select few people read over his last words, it's not what he expected but it's enough to make him smile. As much as he wants Kashuu to hate him or how he wants Urashima to wear a haori and make himself even prouder — he's going through a lot! Even with the fact that Pearl (with Hijikata's help) is able to wear the haori he left with her.

Yamato needs a moment.

Bending over, he touches the ground with his hand.
He needs a moment. ]

[For Horikawa, the reactions he got to his letter could probably only be expected ー not accounting for Hijikata, whose response seemed... Well, it would have made sense in any other situation than this one. It kind of hurt him to see it too, but it's unfortunate that his former master had to do an immediate heel turn.

Really, those small pockets of faith that Horikawa has been stubbornly holding onto seem to be under attack from all angles. His fists are closed tightly whenever he sees Tsurumaru, really. Just saying his name so casually is bad enough in itself, but when Tsurumaru actually touches Hijikata, Horikawa just about gags. This is where all that self-imposed anger management comes in handy though, right? There's nothing to be gained in losing his head here, of all places, right? He bites his tongue and after a few breaths decides that this isn't a trial he's interested in watching. Not in its entirety, in any case. Getting up, he looks to the person beside him.]

This will probably be going for a while, Yasu-kun. We can come back later.

[Well, Yamato doesn't have to come with him, but it'd probably do a whole lot for that miserable look on his face.]

[ To be honest, he's a little surprised by the whole ordeal and just like Shijima, he isn't so fond of the whole stripping segment. There's not much that bothers Yamato aside from the fact that he's hoping there's no more witch hunts against them. Leaning back up and a sigh that slips from his lips, he raises a brow the moment that Horikawa speaks. ]

Eh? [ He raises his gaze once the other gets to his feet. ] Where are we going, they're getting some information which I don't think is entirely true but.. [ He doesn't know, fanning himself because he's just a little hot — is the heat on? He speaks up again. ]

Are you hungry or something?

Something like that.

[His response is clipped, Horikawa just wants to go?? Of course he's not hungry, but if it's enough to get away from the screen just until the entire stripping ordeal has passed, that's enough for him. It isn't like he has a whole lot of faith (or hope) in the innocents' investigation skills either, outside Urashima and Kashuu. Looks off... Come to think of it, he could use a smoke too right now.]

I'm sure they'll have more points to mention later, too. That's fine, isn't it?

I.. [ Hm, he guesses? He doesn't really know, Yamato may be new to this whole technology shindig but he does get up from his seat. He gives one last look at the television in hopes that something goes right but there seems to be some heat going on concerning swords and guns. ]

Are you sure you want to go.. something big looks like it's about to happen. [ He stares at him for confirmation as he takes a step towards him but there's distance still between them. ]
