You remember dying. In fact, you remember the exact feeling and fear of how you died, and yet in the next moment, you're suddenly standing in a cold room. You're not sure how you got here at all, but it's as if you were suddenly put here the moment after you died. As you look around, the first thing you'll notice is that you're standing in front of an open casket. And you're inside. The corpse inside the casket is definitely you, and it's also definitely dead, which certainly makes this confusing. Luckily, here's someone here to explain. When you wake up, there's footsteps walking closer, and then a familiar face appears. Iván is here, or someone that looks very much like her is. All she starts off with is two simple words— "You're dead." Which would seem obvious, but she explains that you have been before you ever arrived to the island. The shipwreck and the island are't real, after all. This is purgatory, and the Hunt is a way to judge the souls of the living. People show their true nature when they're put in a stressful situation, so it was deemed that this was the way that these judgements would be passed. She explains that you'll know your fate when the game ends, but if you really can't wait that long, you could always ask, but hope isn't lost. After all, the "killers" are on your side. If they can win the game, then everyone can come back to life. They know this, and it's why they're fighting so hard to win. It's a shame that the odds don't seem to be in their favor, but that's also part of the Hunt. — Exploring your new surroundings, you'll realize that you're likely at the bottom of that giant sinkhole, at least if that light far above you is any indication. You no longer feel the need to eat or sleep anymore (technically, you never did, but the habits of being alive are hard to break), so it's a good thing there's enough to do while the game continues. You can watch the proceedings of the Hunt in one room where there's plenty of comfortable couches to sit in and lounge, as well as a fully stocked bar, if you feel like indulging. Another room offers a game room with cards, billiards, and any other games you'd like to play in a group. If you ask your host nicely, she might provide more, but for now, there's not much to do other than to watch and wait for the Hunt to end.

Rei seems the type. She depends on her little group to protect her, but it will do her no good now.

[ When she does look more panicky, he can only just smile slightly, it could be interpreted as a sad one, perhaps. He recalls speaking to Rei on more than one occasion, helping her up the stairs in one, and even later when she assisted on giving a bit of information. He recalls wanting to speaking to her later on.

But he also recalls her efforts in the entire game, and the only time she has tried to get someone to be chosen was when she was just talking quietly on that second day...only to vote for herself. He can only feel as sorry for her as he did for that man named Tsurumaru--not much now.

It is at this point, Sephiroth seems to consider her last sentence. ]

You're right. I knew nothing about Souza, whereas Fuuma actually has more information about Rei, concerning her attitude and interactions. Even if he was pointing a finger, with no evidence, and it could still be called a hunch, he has more ammunition. That and the target he picked doesn't have as many allies as the one I chose, even if my end goal wasn't just to get Souza executed.

Hinata's made better arguments for her case than she has... She could at least back him up.

[But, in the end, she's better off dead no matter what kind of person she is. As horrible as the deaths themselves are, Gi-ne can't be too upset about anyone from the village being killed. It helps her purpose, after all.]

He's put a lot of work into this case. Honestly, his points make a lot of sense. If I didn't know better I might even believe him.

By this time she's accepted her fate. She could try, but I have a feeling she is more used to people arguing for her, or putting suggestions into people's heads with little words here or there.

[ He folds his arms, listening to what few words the rest will have to say, and he knows the end result...as entertaining this trial was. ]

Fuuma is also adept at working well under pressure. None of it seems hasty, or panicked at all. He had his suspicions about her earlier before this as well, so that probably helps as well, in addition to everything else. A good thing he's chosen the wrong target then, hm?

Yeah... To be honest, he's actually really close. He just went for the wrong person. Fuuma's going to be in a lot of trouble once they're done. Getting the sweet, young, defenceless girl executed when she's perfectly innocent? If he makes it through the night I'll be surprised.

It will be interesting to see their reactions, indeed. Especially Hinata's.

[ He is waiting for them all to implode in words of rage and violent death. Some humans were just so predictable. ]

He might make it through the night since Royce cannot hand out guns anymore and the other Generals may wish to keep a figure like him around for the chaos he will inevitably cause.

I'm really not sure what that boy will do. He's kind of- ... well, tonight should be interesting anyway.
