THE GENERAL day zero Ivan has told you what you're meant to do in the coming days, and she's also told you that there's an hour before other souls will start washing up on the shores. She has to leave to prepare, but you're all together in the lobby of the mansion. Take it as a chance to meet each other and get to know the people you'll be working with.

Probably not. [Sighs. She's not keen on this either.] It doesn't seem fair. Why do we get to know what's going on and they don't?

Because our "overseer" doesn't wish a fair fight. It's despicable. If there was not a noble cause involved, I would sooner accept my death than slaughter innocents.

[meatery]

[Looks surprised by that statement and looks up at Orion perplexed.] ... Really? You'd rather die than kill people?

[wartorns]

You misunderstand. I have killed many and I am certain I will kill again. However, those deaths were done in the name of protecting my homeland and my people. I am not a butcher - I am a warrior.

[meatery]

Technically, I'm both...

[Butcher as in actually preparing meat for eating though, don't worry. Gi-ne apparently needs a moment to dwell on Orion's words.]

... That's a pretty unique point of view. [Is it really???]

[wartorns]

[His brow scrunches up, not getting the pun in it, but sniffs a little at her words.]

The way of a warrior is not one many can accept. I don't fault people for it really - it is not a life for the weak of heart.

[meatery]

The way of the warrior is to keep fighting as many strong people as you can! It's got nothing to do with all that other stuff!

[wartorns]

Hah! [He grins.] True. But I prefer to fight people of equal or greater strength. I am no hitman who preys upon the weak.

[Which is really what he feels like here, more than anything.]

[meatery]

[Nods and laughs] Yeah, I never liked that stuff either. But! [Punches his shoulder, probably a bit harder than you'd expect a friendly punch from a woman her size.] Remember, that's not what we're doing! They get something out of this too!

[wartorns]

[He takes the punch with ease, but isn't put-off by her strength and instead smiles. The women of New Genesis are just as strong, some even stronger, than the men.]

Maybe they do. [His face shifts back into dissatisfaction.] But I still find no satisfaction in being put into this position.

[That doesn't mean he won't do it, if only so he can protect the other people in this room with him, but he won't like it.]

Well, guys who enjoy this sort of thing a little too much are always kind of weird. [Smiles comfortingly up at him.] So that's probably for the best.

[Gi-ne, you make it sound like you're used to dealing with guys who'd like this stuff...]

Just do your best and support the team. The more of us that survive, the less of them we have to kill, I think.
