night one - kill log.
Who: Killers and Ema Skye
When: The first night
Where: The jungles of Ship-Trap Island
[ It's the dead of night when you first hear it. It's the distinct sound of baying hounds barking nearby. This must be the Hunt that you were warned of, and though it seems impossible, they sound very close. You can try and run, but The General and his foxhounds are hot on your trail... And oddly enough, even if you do try and run, you'll feel yourself growing more and more tired with every step. It seems this wasn't a completely fair hunt from the start. ]

He turns to Hijitaka and whispers.]
Go in and scout her out. If she evades I'll catch her.

[ With a click of his tongue he points forward, allowing his dog to head in first. Hopefully, the canine can sniff her out and he follows with quick, light steps.
Hijikata unsheathes his sword, tapping the blade against the walls of the building. ]
You can't hide forever. [ Shit. Did she try to bolt for it? Hmm... Although, the dog is still sniffing around the general area, so... ]
Hm... Clothes. [ He picks up the tie, and places it in front of the dog's nose. More barking emits as it begins to sniff around the floor trying to pick up Ema's real scent. ] Hurry up. Find her.
Honestly... What kind of joke is this? Don't make me laugh. [ More barking. The dog begins to bolt in a direction, and Hijikata obviously follows immediately. ]

When the barking is suddenly turned in her direction, panic seizes her again, and she breaks into an all-out run despite the roughness of the jungle on her bare feet. She's probably moving a little too loudly now, rustling a few too many branches. She doesn't know where to go, but anywhere must be better than here. ]

She's trying to escape into the jungle! [He calls out toward Hijitaka, his own dog catching wind of his yell and going back to its master before running out after Ema.]

I hear her! She's getting away! [ He yells that, mostly to his dog. He points his sword in the direction of the footsteps he hear then rushes off. ]
If you get close to her catch her! [ He remembers seeing shoes around the ruins. How brave of Ema to even try to run away on her bare feet. ]
I'm going this way, you try to cut her off. Be quick about it! [ Hijikata veers off in one direction, following his dog. Hopefully, if they're fast enough they can cut Ema off himself. That won't be a problem though, he yells at his dog to take the lead. If it gets even an inch near Ema it'll take a lunge at her. ]

It's so very frustrating, and anger boils up in her as the adrenaline that had her running so fast seems to abandon her in the span of five seconds. She slows to a stop and turns sluggishly. She recognizes one of the voices, at least, and she focuses her fury on Orion. ]
You! How dare you!
[ And then a hound is leaping at her from the jungle, and she barely protects herself by throwing an arm in front of her. She struggles to keep her footing, but she's simply too small, light, and tired to get away. They'll find her there, fighting to pull away. ]

Ema - I'm sorry it has to be this way. No one has any choice in all of this.

[ Finally catching up, Hijikata whistles for his dog to back away. Instead, he points his own blade at Ema's neck, and a foot on her stomach just in case. ]
Are you really in the position to be angry right now? At him? He's not the one you should be worried about, honestly. Yell all you want but we can silence you at an instant.
But that wouldn't be any fun. Anything else to say, hmm?

Over the years, she's learned that it's better to be angry than upset. Better to be furious and defiant than let some pretend samurai loser see her be weak. So despite the foot on her chest, and the actual despair threatening to overwhelm her, she glares up at him. ]
Been practicing those lines all night? Get a hobby, jerk.

Stop mocking her. [He looks back to Ema, looking far less amused and excited about this ordeal.] This twisted game has claimed us all. If not you tonight, then someone else. You have my sincere regrets.
no subject
I don't need practice considering I'm a demon.
[ Wow... Edgy as fuck.
Anyway. ]
Hah. Don't make me laugh, this game may be twisted but at least I'm going to come out on top. It's the strong against the weak, right?
You're entire body is trembling, I can feel it right under my foot. How do you feel being hunted like this? [ He touches his blade against the skin of her throat. Then it trails down to her collarbone. ]
Where shall we start, huhh... You can choose if you'd like.
no subject
...
[ But she can take Orion seriously, at least. She saw what this game does to people who choose not to cooperate. She's temperamental, and stubborn, and childish, but she isn't stupid. These are two people fully committed to killing her. Her body's as cooperative as a wet noodle. She's lost.
She looks away, the fight seeping out of her. ]
Just get it done. Quickly, if you will.
no subject
Agreed. Do it quick or else.
[His tone is warning and without jest. He may not be a great swordsman, but he knows how to stab someone with a blade at the very least. Causing too much commotion could get them caught.]
no subject
Fine.
[ Guess that's that. Retracting his blade first, he gets on his knees, straddling on top of Ema; pressing his blade to her throat once more he decides to grant her's (and Orion's) wish by doing it quickly.
And by that... It was just simply slitting her throat in quick motion. At least this will make sure Ema's screams won't be heard through the jungle. It won't take long for her to fall unconscious, but... ]
Death will soon follow... [ He whispers that, then stands up. Looking at Orion, somewhat sourly. ] Pleased?

Alright.
I'll be going now. [ He has a blade to clean. ]
