FOXES

Instead of waking up in the jungle, you wake up elsewhere. This is the square where the Foxes comes to decide what to do, and Ivan patiently sits on a bench. It's your job to pick someone to investigate.

After all, you're saving them.

You have a little while to think about who you'll pick tonight, but don't think too hard, since you only have until dawn.

"So? Who do you want to know about?" Ivan asks, so clearly, she's not going to let you think on it that long.

[ he doesn't believe in fate. If it exists, it's utter garbage, and he's got a bone to pick with whoever wove his.

Other than her lack of information on that front, though, the rest of what she says is even more interesting. Still concerned, he tilts his head at her. ]

I thought Ivan was a weird name for a girl... You don't remember anything before you came here, then?

[Slowly, Jason's eyes narrow. Not remembering family or friends or a real name is serious amnesia. It's questionable. Suspicious. Maybe not her per say (sort of her), but this place, the General, the situation.] That's pretty fucked up, thinking it's your fate to decide the fate of other people. [And off-hand comment, mostly talking out loud.

He quiets down when Auger continues, but his narrowed gaze doesn't relax. Exist. I don't remember. Fate. A pause, then he follows up:]

Are you human?

[ his eyes flick over to Red briefly when he makes that snippy comment, but he doesn't offer any rebuttal; only a solemn expression towards Ivan. One that says he doesn't agree with his fellow fox here. ]

I don't believe in fate, [ he responds, serious. ] What if you tried to fight back? There's a lot of us here, you know. We have the numbers advantage.

[Jason mutters, "Shit," under his breath. She doesn't even know if she's human or not. While he was initially worried in general about this twisted game, now after that little televised death and their hostess unsure of her species, well...]

Numbers are irrelevant. [He's not looking at Auger, but the response is for him.] With subterfuge and stealth, you can take out an army. All you need is patience and skill.

[ what a wishy-washy woman. People who won't stand up for themselves are just pathetic.

On the other hand, it might make his life easier. He rolls his eyes briefly at Jason, but turns his attention back to Ivan after. ]

And if we kill the General like we're supposed to?

[Again, Jason's full attention comes to rest on Ivan. If they kill the General, then...?

A part of him is momentarily tense, thinking: they won't be free. Freedom costs too much. It's hard to obtain and too hard to keep. He thinks about something.

He opens his mouth, then shuts it, listening.]
