FOXES Instead of waking up in the jungle, you wake up elsewhere. This is the square where the Foxes comes to decide what to do, and Ivan patiently sits on a bench. It's your job to pick someone to investigate. After all, you're saving them. You have a little while to think about who you'll pick tonight, but don't think too hard, since you only have until dawn. "So? Who do you want to know about?" Ivan asks, so clearly, she's not going to let you think on it that long. rulebook character statuses profiles All night votes will be due 5PM EST two days after trial.

[ Well "patiently." By the time everyone wakes up, it seems like Ivan is only just barely composing herself. She has a stained handkerchief in hand, and it's clear she's been crying for quite a while. ]

[baaaaka]

[ For all that's happened, he doesn't look quite as shaken; his face is drawn into a neutral expression, and he appears to be thinking deeply. Auger's seen plenty of death in his life by now. Blood is far from rare or horrifying to him; in fact, it's almost the opposite. On both counts.

Auger would like to laugh. But he's hidden his amusement very well. ]

Ah... Evening, Ivan. You don't look so good. [ his voice is dry. quietly, Auger wonders if those tears are real, but he doesn't comment on them. Instead, perhaps surprisingly, he goes straight to business. ] We both get to pick one person, right?

[As someone else who has not only seen plenty of death in his life, but been a part of it himself, Jason doesn't appear so much upset as he is just angry. The frustration is just below the surface, boiling, churning. His stance is tense, shoulders, hands fisted.

The blue of his eyes are ice cold, and they flicker to the handkerchief, then back up to Ivan, then to Auger, then to Ivan again. Strangely, though he wonders, too, if the tears are real, he has an inkling Ivan is as much of a piece in this game as they are. Maybe.]

I think we decide together on a single person.

[foxhounds]

[ She nods, at least regaining her composure, though her expression is still drawn. ]

...Yes. That's correct. Each night, you'll meet here and choose a person. I'll tell you where they lie.

[baaaaka]

[ an inkling isn't enough to convince him. It's a little disappointing that they can't take on two at once - but, then again, he doesn't know if he has two people.

Right now, there's only one. ]

Okay. In that case, how about you? [ his voice remains easy, and his eyes drift over to Red. ] After all, she's the most suspicious person here.

night two

[foxhounds]

[ Ivan is calmer tonight, so it seems at least in a way, this night was more of what was supposed to happen. ]

[Jason emerges in an easy prowl, quiet and fluid. He nods at Ivan, hands in his pockets.]

Seen Pussycat yet?

[baaaaka]

Yeah, yeah, I'm here.

[ compared to last time, Auger seems much more energetic and much less anxious. ]

Hey there, Ivan. [ he smiles at her, then turns to Jason. ] Red. I've got a good idea to share with you guys.

[foxhounds]

[ She nods, giving them both a brief hello, but nothing more. ]

night three

[foxhounds]

[ Ivan seems intensely relieved tonight. Maybe it has to do with Shijima getting executed? ]

[baaaaka]

[ on the other hand, for the first time, Auger is highly agitated. The reason is probably clear enough: he feels like he's been lied to. There's another Fox on the loose, and that's compromising his current position in a big way. This is why he hates making moves when he doesn't have sufficient infomation. ]

You better have a good explanation for this, Ivan. What the hell was that all about? There are more Foxes than just us?

[ his voice is a catlike hiss; his tail lashes angrily behind him. ]

[Jason barrels along the whole way, but as he is coming in, his pace slows to a hard, easy crawl. He's as irritable as Auger, and surprised to find the cat so, too.] The fuck was that entire thing?! [His initial glare is for Auger, thinking the cat set him up.]

They are trying to bait us out, I told you! God dammit! Either they are lying, or there's another set of us!

[His second glare, now, is for Ivan, eyes fiery.] You're not as innocent as you say, are you? The votes fucking worked for you this time because of the spelling. Bullshit!

[foxhounds]

[ woah woah calm down there boys ]

No— No, there are no more foxes. There isn't even anyone else that can find out roles like you do. Someone else just happened to find out Shijima's. I... I didn't even know she held that role until last night.

[ She looks surprised and alarmed, though that's not a surprise in itself considering you two angry fuckers ]

It's not the spelling that matters. It's the number. It has to be three or more people that vote for me to not be randomized... It's a small safeguard to the idea of voting for the Overseer.

[ Ivan is waiting passively for them to wake up this time. Maybe she's getting more used to this too? But she at least has good news forthem today. ]

Tonight, you're allowed to pick two. One for each of you.

[unrecked]

[Jason whistles long and low, surprised.] Is this a pity gift because we haven't found anyone guilty, or is it one of our birthdays?

[baaaaka]

Eh? Seriously? You should've just let us do that from the start.

[ he distinctly remembers asking about it, too... maybe she took his advice? (not likely) ]

[foxhounds]

Neither. A condition was met, so now you get better chances to balance things out.

night five

[foxhounds]

[ Ivan is waiting passively for him to wake up, as usual. But she does have something to say today. ]

I'm not sure whether to say "my condolences" or "congratulations." So have both for now.

[baaaaka]

Huh? It's obviously "congratulations," right? Everything is working out even better than I thought it would.

[ Jason is gone, and his death even helped kill one of the Generals. Souza's eliminated, so there's nobody else that might leak information about him to a possible killer. And he has both the Rainsfords and the Gunsmith in his hands now.

It's been a good day for Auger. The suffering that the others are going through has passed him by completely. ]

You should be happy, too. Before long, I'll have your island cleaned up.

[foxhounds]

[ She nods passively, but doesn't say anything to what he's said. ]

You may pick two tonight, by the way.

[baaaaka]

Wonderful.

[ he can't let this go to his head too much, though. Not yet. He's still got a few Generals left to go - though he doesn't know how many. It'd be nice if Gi-ne had told them before she croaked. ]

I've got a few options tonight, but I think I'm gonna go with... Kasen and Pearl. How does that sound, Ivan?

night six

[foxhounds]

[ Ivan is waiting passively for them to wake up this time. Maybe she's getting more used to this too? ]

[baaaaka]

[ nothing like waking up to Ivan's lovely face. Except today was a bit of a wash, and Auger's left with dwindling suspects and dwindling time.

And few leads. His nose wrinkles, and he sits up with a stretch and a sigh. It's not like he cares about the rest - if they all die except for him, that'd be just perfect - but the chances of Urashima or Kamui getting killed are rising. He has to pick off the remaining killers, or he'll be in trouble. At this point, ironically, the best he has is a hunch. ]

Yo, Ivan. For three fourths of us being dead, you look pretty all right.

[foxhounds]

[ She nods ]

Things are drawing to a close. I think things will be over tomorrow.

[baaaaka]

[ he thinks so, too. That's not a good thing. There are - probably - three killers left. He can only identify two people. And they can only kill one. Max's gun is nowhere to be found, and the one he got from Kasen has no bullets.

He's not one for introspection; he'd rather go out in a blaze of glory. Die interestingly, leave a handsome - or gory - corpse. Still, he finds himself sighing. It feels like a waste. ]

The Generals get to go home if they kill us all, right? That's why those people are after us.
