FOXES Instead of waking up in the jungle, you wake up elsewhere. This is the square where the Foxes comes to decide what to do, and Ivan patiently sits on a bench. It's your job to pick someone to investigate. After all, you're saving them. You have a little while to think about who you'll pick tonight, but don't think too hard, since you only have until dawn. "So? Who do you want to know about?" Ivan asks, so clearly, she's not going to let you think on it that long. rulebook character statuses profiles All night votes will be due 5PM EST two days after trial.

[ She nods ]

Then a choice for the night is Urashima Kotetsu?

[baaaaka]

[ he holds up a clawed finger dismissively. ]

Hold on just a second, lady. I know you're excited to serve me, but I wanna discuss things with my friend here first.

[unrecked]

[A laugh from Jason, probably because of Ivan's rush and Auger's following irritation.] When's the wedding? [Implying they are bickering like a married couple.

Jason smirks.] Try them if you want. Right now, I think we're mostly going to have to pick at random like usual until we get some stable leads. I want to try a few of the ye olde Nobunagas, but I need to make sure the little sneakthief I've been talking to is trustworthy before I say too much. Especially after earlier.

Whoever we choose, I'll add them to the list of names for tomorrow. [He motions for Auger to proceed if ready.] I'll tell you some things I learned when we finish.

[foxhounds]

[ UGH FINE Ivan frowns, but just motions for them to continue. ]

[baaaaka]

Please. I can do better than her.

[ ivan's not gonna be able to touch these ears for free man ]

Are you gonna tell me who you're picking, or is it going to be a surprise?

[unrecked]

Hey, I saw how she tried to rush you, okay. I couldn't say just in case she thought it was my final answer. [Back off, Regis Philbin!]

Royce. He told me about the one everyone voted for before we voted. Said the kid had the gun that killed Orion. Not sure what to believe. [He peers at Auger a moment.] Kid could have had it and still been innocent. I used it against Matt since he seemed so upset about Orion to try to figure out who his Fox was.

Turns out: it was Orion. Supposedly. Might be why the bastard got it.

[baaaaka]

[ that actually gets a laugh out of Auger. It's good they can bond over the simple things, like picking on poor Ivan...

Surprisingly, they seem like they're in agreement on who to vote for, too. He nods. ]

Mm, I heard that, too. I guess we'll never know what he really was. [ other than a liar. Auger sure isn't feeling bad he's gone. ] Royce was my second choice, actually. Lady luck's on my side tonight!

[ that settles it, though. He finally turns to Ivan, putting his hands on his hips. ]

Okay, I think we're in agreement. I'll pick Urashima whats-his-name.

[foxhounds]

[ Now she just looks unamused, but with a sigh, she repeats herself: ]

Then a choice for the night is Urashima Kotetsu?

[baaaaka]

That's right. Let's hear the truth.

[foxhounds]

[ Then to Jason: ]

And your choice is Royce Melborn?

[unrecked]

Yeah. Hit us with it.

[foxhounds]

[ She reaches into a pocket of her dress, since this dress is actually useful, and pulls out a little Moleskine notebook and a penknife. The book is opened on her lap, and she cuts a little incision into her pinky. She winces a little as she cuts herself, but speaks clearly to the book. ]

Who are Urashima Kotetsu and Royce Melborn?

[ She holds her pinky out over the book, and the red is seemingly absorbed into the pages, leaving no trace of where it stained behind. After a moment, red letters surface on the page. ]

URASHIMA KOTETSU. RAINSFORD.
ROYCE MELBORN. GUNSMITH.

[baaaaka]

[ finally - finally, some actual answers. Auger's golden eyes glitter, pleased. So he wasn't lying, after all. ]

Look at that. We actually learned something. [ the smile that's been on his face since the beginning widens a little. ] Gunsmith, huh... I don't know much about guns.

[unrecked]

[At first, Jason whistles again, shorter, then laughs. Hot damn, they did more than just piss in the dark this time.] I feel like we won half the lottery, at least. [He shakes his head.] Don't worry about knowing guns. I know enough.

I'll deal with Royce, if you can get Kotetsu to work with us. [A pause, thoughtful.]

When I make the list, do you want me to separate Royce, or add him to one of the sides? Innocent? Guilty? I don't know if he's used the gun to kill someone himself, or if he's just given it out. If we want to use him to our advantage, it might be better to put him with the innocents.

What says you, prince of cats?

[baaaaka]

[ they haven't won the lottery until they pick out someone who's a killer, but this is a good start. He's happy with it. Auger nods energetically in response, tail curled behind him in a C-shape. For the time being, he doesn't mind leaving Royce with Jason. ]

That sounds like a plan to me. Like I said before, I'm a persuasive guy. [ and Urashima's already halfway into his hands. ] As for Royce... Well, putting him in the innocent group would probably keep him from dying if he doesn't get picked off tonight. And we might need him. A little white lie won't hurt them.

[unrecked]

All right. I'll put him in with the innocents. [Sounds good to him. Royce and the gun could be useful, and not just for them to have a gun. Royce could be useful just by not giving the gun to someone more dangerous.]
