[Actually, now that she's got her prey in her sights, Gi-ne seems to have calmed down. Still furious, of course, but of the "I'm waiting for an explanation, young man, and it had better be good." variety.]

["Young man" RUDE, he is not a baby like a lot of the others!!

He pauses for a moment after what she says and lets out a heavy breath, leaning against the wall next to the sink. Ema's death had been weighing on him since it happened (they're all already dead, so Ivan says, but he isn't sure of that yet) and getting off his chest may help.]

Hijitaka and I went out into the jungle with our dogs leading us to her. She was camped out in some ruined grounds, but caught on to us using the dogs - when we got there her clothes were all strewn out, trying to throw off the hounds scent.

We ran after her into the jungle and caught up with her there. [He looks down at his helmet, still held firmly in his hands, and scowls.] Hijitaka wanted to do some sick torture game with his sword, but I stopped him and made him do it quick. He cut her throat and then we split up from there. That's all that happened last night.

[Hijitaka. Goddamn, you'd think she'd be used to spotting the psychos by now.]

But if that's all... [Well, at least it sounds like Ema was dead by the time all that other shit happened no matter what. So that's okay.] Do you think he doubled back?

Maybe. He seemed resigned to our plan once I told him to stick to it. Plus I doubt he'd get as much sick satisfaction when she was already dead.

It's either him or a person who found the corpse first and decided to make a display. Maybe whoever Ivan works for too? Alois wasn't our fault either.

Damn it... That's just what we need. All those guys convinced we're monsters while some other guy runs around doing this stuff for kicks.

[They've slit one throat between them and look at the mess around them.] It's like we're being set up for something.

They're clearly not trying to make us look sympathetic, that's for sure. [Which is really annoying when the reason they're even doing all this is to help everyone.] We'll need to talk to Ivan about this tonight. I don't want a repeat of this mess.

You're right. We'll just try to get through the day without making things any worse and tonight we'll talk to Iván. Even if she's not in on this I'm sure she'll want to know there's some lunatic running around on her island.
