THE GENERAL night one Instead of waking up in the jungle, you wake up elsewhere. This is the square where The General comes to decide what to do, and Ivan patiently sits on a bench. Each of you has your own foxhound who's barking happily to welcome you. They'll help you find who you choose to hunt tonight. After all, you're saving them. I'm sorry... I know it is difficult. I wish I could tell them, but if I speak the truth of it to any but you, then you will all be lost. I cannot allow that.

I think they were talking about voting for you next, since abstaining didn't work. What'll happen if they do?

[ She goes a little pale, then shakes her head. ]

They musn't. I cannot... I cannot explain, since it breaks the rules, but it will stop the Hunt. It should not be stopped, and it is why I may overrule their votes.

[ She looks thoughtful, as if she's trying to think of some way to explain, then nods as she looks at Gi-ne with pleading eyes, as if begging her to understand the hint. ]

I awoke on these shores as well. I wasn't lying when I told people that.

[So she takes a moment to think and then nods.] So we'll try to protect you as well as ourselves. Got it.

[And if they can't, Ivan can overrule it if she has to. Okay.]

[ She nods, though she looks stricken ]

I... I cannot ask you to do such a thing. But I would appreciate it all the same.
