THE GENERAL night one Instead of waking up in the jungle, you wake up elsewhere. This is the square where The General comes to decide what to do, and Ivan patiently sits on a bench. Each of you has your own foxhound who's barking happily to welcome you. They'll help you find who you choose to hunt tonight. After all, you're saving them. You have a little while to discuss who you'll hunt tonight, but don't linger too long, since you only have until dawn. rulebook character statuses profiles All night votes will be due August 10th by 5PM EST

[ Well "patiently." By the time everyone wakes up, it seems like Ivan is only just barely composing herself. She has a stained handkerchief in hand, and it's clear she's been crying for quite a while. ]

[crying people WHO CARES, Clarine was clearly crying as well, red-eyed and shoulders slumped, but she stalks right up to Ivan as soon as she can.]

What was the meaning of that?! We did not-- we did not kill Alois...! And that trial--!

For someone who knows about this "game", you're acting like you've never seen this before. Answer our questions already. What was the meaning of that earlier.

[Everyone is taking care of the yelling at Ivan already, and while Hinata's angry himself, and still visibly shaken... she looks awfully upset.]

Are you okay?

[He can get his answers from the others, or from listening to them talk.]

[And.... a little bit later, Hinata's back.]

Hey, sorry to bother you again, but... what do we do with the body? Are those guys going to retrieve it and bring it to where everyone can find it?

[Gi-ne sits up. Looks around. Sees who's there. Flops back down onto the floor.]

We haven't even done anything yet!

[Her puppy runs over and starts licking her face excitedly.]

[Yeah Clarine slowly sits up at Gi-ne's yelling, glancing around even as she wipes at one of her eyes weakly.

... ... ...

She takes a slow, shuddery breath.]

T-that...that was horrible...

It looks like we don't have to do much.

[Hinata's sitting upright nearby, just kind of holding his puppy in both hands, though he's not... doing much of anything, just moving his head enough to make sure it can't lick him while he's talking.]

If we're going to kill someone, though... it's got to be clean. I don't want anyone to have to see that monster again.

Ah... A dog.

[ He immediately picks the puppy up, and begins to pet it calmly. ]

Are we going to act like nothing just happened? [ Well. The dog's cute though. ]

What else are we supposed to do? We can't fight that. If we don't act, it'll just move on without us. That's what this trial has proven, isn't it?

[Don't mind Hinata, he sounds awfully calm about this now. Maybe he's just pretending? Maybe this is Despair. Who knows.]

[She's seated a small ways away, ignoring her dog currently, wiping an eye with one finger.

A sniff.]

... No. Now we know... now we know why we must succeed... Is that not enough?

[ He's gone and put the puppy in his hood, where it hangs its paws off of the edge of his white hoodie. But, one can't have enough puppies, and he's already trying to pat Hijikata's puppy, too. ]

Well, we're just as startled about it as the rest of the island, right? Do you think this kind of thing would happen again?

[He's still really angry about what happened and how blindsighted all of them were in it. The puppy...well it doesn't help.

He just picks it up and it tries to lick him, but he moves it away from being able to slobber on him.]

Do we really need these? I'm not really suited for owning an animal.

That woman over there will probably say it's a part of the "game". [ But who knows honestly! ]

Nonetheless, a master should be responsible for their own pet. You shouldn't say such things.

[She's biting her lip, staring at her own.]

[ Upon hearing the statement, he frowns, reaching over to Orion's foxhound to give it a well-deserved pat... But the puppies! ]

It makes us cuter, don't you think? It also motivates us. If we die, who else will take care of our puppy?

Anyway, if you don't want your puppy, I'll take it!

Sorry... Can I have everyone's attention for just a minute?

[Hinata pushes himself to his feet, visibly bracing himself. His dog, for the moment, is curled up by his feet, panting and wagging its tail. What a happy puppy... it doesn't match Hinata's somber expression at all.]

I should... probably tell you guys something about myself. Before it comes out to everyone else. This isn't the first time I've participated in this kind of... game. Before I came here, I was on an island with a black-and-white stuffed bear, trapped there with fifteen of my classmates.

The only way we could leave the island was to murder a classmate, and do it well enough that our identities couldn't be discovered in the following class trial. If we voted for the right person as the culprit... they'd be executed. If we voted for the wrong person, though... every single one of us, except the culprit, would be executed.

I don't know if that means people will suspect me first, or whatever. I just... thought you guys should know that I have this kind of experience. Who knows, maybe... it'll be helpful, here.

[Finally, Clarine has pulled herself together some after enough conversation; she's still a little shaky, but overall she sounds more like herself (including large sense of entitlement, sorry friends).

Still, she's standing up and trying to get everyone's attention for a reason.]

Regardless of who we decide upon, we must...be certain that it is not the same as the first trial, is that not correct? There was no evidence, and so... there was very little in the way of voting. If such a thing happens again, we could all be at risk, or...they could vote for Ivan.

Is there a way to do that though? ... What kind of weapons do the others use that we don't?

Alright... I don't know if we should spend all that much time together here. It's going to be suspicious if the others can't find us in the jungle, right? We've got to step back and look at all the information from the beginning.

We need to pick a person, and we need to pick a weapon. Obviously, whoever we pick shouldn't be someone that another person knows we intend to meet with tonight. Hazama's out because of that, since that lawyer, Matt, overheard that we intended to meet up later. If she turned up dead, everyone would immediately suspect me. So if there's anything like that, please say something.

Other than that... we've got to look at misdirecting the trial, too. It's going to be hard to find evidence in this jungle, so if we're going to kill someone and try to make it look like someone else, it's got to be contained within the body itself. So... I think the choice of weapon might be important. If we want to try to pin it on a sword-user, using a sword... could be too obvious. No one would want to use their preferred weapon to commit murder, right?

And lastly... we've got to do it. We've got to vote for someone tonight. I... don't really know how to go about picking someone, so if you have any ideas, I'm all ears.

As you said before as well, we must try to be consistent with our use of weapon, at least at first...we must continue this charade that there is only one General.

[A sigh, and she presses a hand to her forehead in exasperation and weariness.]

We must also be careful of the...other roles. The foxes and the Rainsford.

So we cannot choose anyone who would clearly be protected tonight.

[Gi-ne claps her hands twice to get everyone's attention.] Hinata, Clarine and I think that detective- Ema Skye- is a good choice for tonight so I'm going to vote for her! She doesn't seem like a physically strong person, so we probably don't have to worry too much about how we kill her. Just make sure it looks like it was one person and that that person wasn't you!

Who wants to volunteer? [Deliberately looking at everyone but the weenie corner at that.] ... Or complain?

[Just sitting on the floor petting his dog, doing his best to meet everyone's eyes. He still feels (and kind of looks) like he's going to be sick, but... he has to say this.]
