THE GENERAL night three

Instead of waking up in the jungle, you wake up elsewhere. This is the square where The General comes to decide what to do, and Ivan patiently sits on a bench, though she's as impassive as ever to what's going on. Each of you has your own foxhound who's barking happily to welcome you back. They'll help you find who you choose to hunt tonight.

After all, you're saving them.

You have a little while to discuss who you'll hunt tonight, but don't linger too long, since you only have until dawn.

Uh so, about the fox Matt mentioned in the trial...

...That was me. I'm the one who told him about Shijima being Zaroff.

I mean...I thought it was. I was so angry after last night, I decided that something needed to be done. I thought I was angry at Shijima, but my anger was misplaced. I went after Shijima, but the person I really wanted to go after was that damn Judge.

Shijima was just another victim in the end.

... Un, I know what you mean.

[Towards the end, it was hard to be happy she was killed. Especially with her brother.]

Shijima thought her only way out was to ruin our chance of winning. She and the Judge both think we can't, I guess. I want to prove them wrong.

Yeah me too. Or at the least, I want to go down fighting. Damn that Judge.

Although, my one concern is that the real Fox might rat you out sooner or later... Nonetheless, it's great that we finally got Shijima [ Cats aren't his favourite animal ANYWAY. ]

Yeah, I know that's a possibility. I told Matt that there were multiple foxes, so that could buy me time I think.

But it was just important for us to get the Zaroff. You saw how determined she was to get everyone to vote for Ivan back there to save her skin. We would have all been screwed then.

Hmm... Didn't some people try to vote Ivan anyway?

It was... Concerning. [ Sighs. ] I really hope people don't try that again, it's not like we can tell them why voting Ivan is bad.

Yeah seriously. I didn't mention that Zaroff was aiming for Ivan because I thought it would make Ivan more of a target...didn't think that crap would happen.

Honestly if I get revealed, that's gonna be the first thing I say. They can vote whoever they want, but Ivan cannot be taken down. We'll all become like Shijima if that happens. Besides, Ivan is a nice person.

I'm just worried... it was a really stressful trial, but now that it's over, it seems like everything went too well.

I don't know either honestly. I've put myself in potential fire now. If things start to get hairy, and if I'm figured out, none of you can try to defend me. Warriors do not go into battle thinking they will come out unscathed. That is the decision I made when I decided to target Shijima today.

I know. I said it from the beginning, didn't I? If we're going to win, if we're really going to win... I won't go against the group. Even for you guys.

But... maybe it won't come to that. What are you going to do tonight? Are you going to talk to Matt again as the "Fox?"

I'm going to talk to him, yeah. He deserves thanks for helping me today at the least. Besides that, I need to think about my "fox" target - or whatever you wanna call it. I didn't mention it, but besides Matt I also talked with Greed and Fuuma at the same time. I think one of the three will be 'picked' for that, so to speak.

Yeah, me too... I don't like lying to everyone like this.

[Also the killing bit. Not a fan of that at all.]

Greed and Fuuma... is it? [He brings a hand to his chin, clearly giving them further consideration. He doesn't know as much about the other two, but-]

Does Matt know you talked to them, too? Or do any of them know about each other? Obviously the other two would have to know about Matt after today's display, but...

Oh but there's something else you guys should know. I thought it'd look weird to only go to one person with my information, so I picked three - Matt, Greed and Fuuma. Right now they're the ones who know that I'm the "Fox."

Three? Ooh, that's dangerous... Especially those three. They're quite vocal during the day, aren't they?

We just have to hope that none of them are foxes. If even one of them found out, you'd be dead, instantly.

I don't think they are. I mean, if they were why not just call me out right there? Though now they know my information was legitimate, maybe they're not so wary of my claim anymore.

Maybe there's multiple foxes? We don't know if there's more than one fox, and if there is, we don't know if they can all meet or not. It seems unlikely, though. That's just too easy.

For now, they trust you, and we can use that to our advantage. Did they happen to ask you to "investigate" anyone in particular? Or have you already decided who you're going to "investigate"?
