THE GENERAL night five ![]() Instead of waking up in the jungle, you wake up elsewhere. This is the square where The General comes to decide what to do, and Ivan patiently sits on a bench, though she's as impassive as ever to what's going on. Each of you has your own foxhound who's barking happily to welcome you back. They'll help you find who you choose to hunt tonight. After all, you're saving them. You have a little while to discuss who you'll hunt tonight, but don't linger too long, since you only have until dawn. character statuses profiles All night votes will be due 8/26 by 5PM EST |

UGH AUGER @OFFICIAL_AUGER @BWS FUCK YOU i'm laughing!!!
But, hold on! Before you all go... It was really nice killing with all of you. It made me a better person, in a way. In these five days, I think I grew to love all of you more than almost all of my previous masters. I'm a sword, so it was a strange sensation for me, but if love is when your heart feels all warm and tingly, then I've felt it while being with all of you. Hah, that's cheesy, isn't it?
Clarine, I'm cheering for you and Urashima. Take care of him, he's just a little boy. A bit spoiled and unruly, but he's got a heart of gold. Hinata, at least one night, you should kill someone. It's a life-changing experience, you know, unless you're going for the pure mastermind aesthetic.
Hijikata... Now that we know this was going to happen, thank you for embracing me the way you did, earlier today. [ He smiles. ] All these nights, thank you for being with me. Even if you think you're a bad person, demon vice commander and everything, you really aren't! I was happy when I was with you. I was happy when you came with me to kill Horikawa. I was happy when you approved of me. I was happy when you praised me. You made me the happiest while I was here, and I wanted to thank you for that.
Anywaaaaaay. If any of you have to kill me tomorrow, don't hesitate! Make it as painful as possible, I'd love that.
[ A quick nod, before he leaves. ] See you tomorrow, everyone!
Let's have a good trial.

Clarine's just looking so terribly sad at this speech, eyes wide. She's all cried out, though. She has no more tears to shed.]
Tsurumaru...
[... there's not a lot that can be said here, though, is there?]
... I will take care of him, as best I am able to. Let us...hope for the best, tomorrow.

These next few days, a lot of suffering is going to occur, and Tsurumaru just wants to make sure that the murderdaughter that he's so fond of will be prepared... to deal with this suffering. ]
Thank you, Clarine.
Please get some rest. Will you be seeing him tonight?
[ Normally, this would be where he makes his puns... and implications... but now is not the time, and he means his words as they are said, nothing more. ]

[If she knows Urashima at all, she thinks he'll come to check on her after that entire fiasco of an execution. She's grateful for it. It makes her feel a little warm, but at the same time...
It's hard for her to ignore the cold knot in her chest that this brings her.
She doesn't want to lose Tsurumaru as well.]
...We will not allow everyone to remain dead. All of you...we will bring all of you back to life. No matter what it takes.

[ He thinks upon her words carefully, as these are words that she's spoken to him before. Like Urashima, she's adamant on certain things; he's fond of that, too. ]
All of my comrades are good people. For tricking them, I'm the worst one. Tell me: do you think that after what I did to them, that I still deserve to come back?
no subject
[She huffs at that, though, a bit more of her spirit showing on her face.]
Naturally you do. You shall explain yourself properly to them when you have all returned to life. Do you understand me?
no subject
[ There's a small laugh, and the direct way she states her answer lifts his spirits, if only a little. ]
Aah, but I think they'll be pretty mad at me for what I did to Horikawa, though. Do you think I can justify that, too?
no subject
[If they succeed.
If they don't succeed, they'll all STAY DEAD and it won't matter, so....welp.]
But I shall...keep that in mind. If nothing else, I believe that...he believes in me. As I too believe in him.
[The major difference of course is that Urashima is innocent and Clarine is VERY MUCH NOT.]
... We shall see, won't we? [She tilts her head at him, arching an eyebrow imperiously.] When you come back, and Horikawa as well, and the others, you shall have to justify it to them.
[And then her expression melds into a smile.]
But I believe you can do so.

[Pure mastermind aesthetic... Since when am I the mastermind?
Either way, Hinata's just going to bow at the waist. He's actually... while he's upset about this, he's almost grateful to have the chance for honest closure for once. The thing he was denied with both Orion and Gi-ne.]
Don't worry. We'll... make sure to get you out, no matter what. So even if it takes some time... please trust us. I'm sorry that I made so many wrong decisions, but I won't... let you down.

[ There's a rueful expression that rests on his lips, and he brushes a strand of white hair from his face. ] You know my lifespan, as much as you don't want to believe it. Waiting a few more days is not something that troubles me.
As for trust... I thought I made it pretty clear that, despite my disdain for humans, I've come to trust all of you even more than my own comrades. You, Clarine, Hijikata, Orion, and Gi-ne, and all of our puppies.
It may sound odd, but for me, dying is a blessing. There is no need to apologize.
[ He reaches out now, giving Hinata's ahoge a warm pat. ] Please take care of everyone else, Hinata.

[ Way to ruin the moment! Again! ]
If you're trying to act like you know me, then you're wrong. Maybe we should just kill you now and get it out of the way since you think you're so sure you're going to die tomorrow. Why wait all trial when it's such a bother. [ Hijikata looks away... However, he clenches his fist and grits his teeth, trying to retain most of his anger. Ugh...
He's so tired of losing people. He's so tired. He really needs to win this game... Damn. ]
this is no longer for ivan she betrayed us. i'm just a sinner
As much as I would love that...
I want to see you tomorrow, Hijikata. Before I die, I want to see you.
You're the prettiest when you're in the sunlight, you know? Horikawa always said that assassination under the darkness was his specialty, and the point of assassination is probably not to be seen, but when I look at you, I never want to look away. The only way that I'll die happily is if yours is the last face that I see.
[ He'll reach for Hijikata's hand, intertwining their fingers together, pressing it against his chest. ]
Will you make me happy one final time?
@ivan let us vote again
Actually, you should be listening to me, and obeying quietly. You're in no position to say anything. [ He scoffs. Despite having the hand pressed to his chest he steps forward, pushing Tsurumaru back with him... (honestly he's just... Trying to... Get away from the Weenie Cru okay. Kids go play with your puppies. Build sand castles. Alright? Alright). ]
You know what position you should be in? [ His lips turn up into a small smirk, though his voice at a low, yet threatening whisper. ] On your knees like the dog you are, you don't feel any shame right? So you shouldn't protest.
So... Are you going to listen?
Flattery won't get you anywhere, I'm not the nice person you think I am.
ivan won't reply to your @'s we're blocked b/c none of us are free from sin
Since you've done me the honor of implying that I can bring you that satisfaction, then...
Tonight, the desires that I wish to grant are yours, master.
[ The moon recasts its light upon Hijikata's haori, as Tsurumaru gives his answer through his actions; he carefully bends down, repositioning himself so that he's on his knees, as Hijikata had asked. His hands rest in his lap as he tilts his head up then, searching for Hijikata's gaze, searching for his approval, his affirmation. ]
There. Is this alright?

WHY DOES IVAN APPROVE OF THIS WHEN SHE WONT GIVE US ANOTHER VOTE!!!
Exactly. There's no need for a dog to act like a human, so put your hands out- listen to me. [ Kneeling down to get closer, rope from his haori in his hand, Hijikata neatly loops it around Tsurumaru's wrists. He finishes it off with a slight tug, making sure its snug around Tsurumaru's wrists. ]
Hmm... Good boy.
You seem to know your place for the most part, if you continue to behave maybe I won't have to punish you as severely.
Well, there's still what you said earlier. What do you have to say for yourself? Don't think you can run away with simple flattery because... [ Placing a hand on Tsurumaru's wrists. ] You won't be able to run, anyway.
SHE'S BLOCKED US AND SHE'S DENYING IT BUT WE KNOW THE TRUTH!!!
He soaks up the two words of praise almost desperately, but it's when Hijikata suggests less severity that he frowns, displeased with that very fact. ] Aah, that's a shame. Won't you punish me even more? I'll have to stop behaving, now, if you're going to be lax about this.
[ But the hand resting against his wrists triggers a sudden tug in the blatant, human core of his heart, and he quickly looks up, wondering why, wondering if he even deserves to be touched — even as he calls Hijikata kind, this is kindness on a different spectrum, and not something that Tsurumaru would expect out of him.
In some odd, twisted way, it brings him the most comfort that he's felt in days. ]
What do you mean? I'm just telling the truth. [ His words are innocently spoken; though, being in this position, can he truly call anything 'innocent'? ] You're kind, but you're also selfish, young, and foolish. Did you think that if you tied me like this, that you could keep me with you, even against death?
Tomorrow... is another story, but as for right now, for as long as you'll have me, I don't want to run anywhere else.
The only place that I want to run is towards you.
And every time, I'll call you kind. I'll tell you how you make me feel. If you truly despise it, then show me.
Punish me, until I don't have the air to speak anymore.
ugh
well until the game is over
