Name:CHARACTER INFORMATION
Contact : Plurk is preferred. All contact information will be kept private. Please note: while having a plurk is not required, a significant amount of OOC discussion will take place there.
Have you participated in a short-term game before? If so, please list which one(s) and who you played.
How did you hear about this game? Because of the interest that goes beyond people I know, please tell me who invited you to the game. You must have an invite, and if it's from someone I don't know, I have the right to reject you for that.
Second character? If this is an app for a second character, please put SECOND CHARACTER in the header. Please also be aware that if you do app two characters, there is a likelihood we'll pick one of your characters to be among the first to die.
I have read the rules and understand the activity requirements: While this game will be more lenient on activity, we hope that everyone will be an active participant. Please make sure you have read the schedule in the information post on when we predict the most activity will occur.
Name:
Canon:
Age:
(Brief) Canon Description: Please briefly describe your canon. A few sentences or a link to a wiki page will suffice. If you have a past application for this character, a link to that would be helpful as well, but is not required. Please note that we are NOT allowing CRAUs.
Personality/Background: We want just a really brief description. Assume we aren't canon familiar and want to get the gist of your character and their history with a quick review. Please don't write a super long thing; this shouldn't be any more than 100 words. This is for our information, not to evaluate you.
Moral Alignment: Please give a brief description of your character's moral alignment here. How likely are they to kill someone and what might convince them to go along with being part of the mafia in this game?
Will you be available from 4PM - 10PM on August 9th? This is used to pick night roles. If you are not interested in a night role, please note this here.
![]() You remember dying. In fact, you remember the exact feeling and fear of how you died, and yet in the next moment, you're suddenly standing in a cold room. You're not sure how you got here at all, but it's as if you were suddenly put here the moment after you died. As you look around, the first thing you'll notice is that you're standing in front of an open casket. And you're inside. The corpse inside the casket is definitely you, and it's also definitely dead, which certainly makes this confusing. Luckily, here's someone here to explain. When you wake up, there's footsteps walking closer, and then a familiar face appears. Iván is here, or someone that looks very much like her is. All she starts off with is two simple words— "You're dead." Which would seem obvious, but she explains that you have been before you ever arrived to the island. The shipwreck and the island are't real, after all. This is purgatory, and the Hunt is a way to judge the souls of the living. People show their true nature when they're put in a stressful situation, so it was deemed that this was the way that these judgements would be passed. She explains that you'll know your fate when the game ends, but if you really can't wait that long, you could always ask, but hope isn't lost. After all, the "killers" are on your side. If they can win the game, then everyone can come back to life. They know this, and it's why they're fighting so hard to win. It's a shame that the odds don't seem to be in their favor, but that's also part of the Hunt. Exploring your new surroundings, you'll realize that you're likely at the bottom of that giant sinkhole, at least if that light far above you is any indication. You no longer feel the need to eat or sleep anymore (technically, you never did, but the habits of being alive are hard to break), so it's a good thing there's enough to do while the game continues. You can watch the proceedings of the Hunt in one room where there's plenty of comfortable couches to sit in and lounge, as well as a fully stocked bar, if you feel like indulging. Another room offers a game room with cards, billiards, and any other games you'd like to play in a group. If you ask your host nicely, she might provide more, but for now, there's not much to do other than to watch and wait for the Hunt to end. |
ZAROFF ![]() While everyone else mills about, you go to the tunnel that only you know about. This is your safe spot to hide, since you know that The General can't touch you. The only way you'll lose is if you're executed, but that won't happen, will it? At the end of the tunnel, you'll find any weapon you can hope for, including a draught that will give you the supernatural abilities of any of the players. You're not here to kill, since only The General can do that, but if you can make them lose or turn on Ivan, then maybe you'll be free. So how will you mutilate the corpse tonight? character statuses profiles All night votes will be due 5PM EST of the day after trial. |
RAINSFORD ![]() Instead of waking up in the jungle, you wake up elsewhere. This is the square where Rainsford comes to decide what to do, and Ivan patiently sits on a bench. It's your job to pick someone to protect. After all, you're saving them. You have a little while to think about who you'll pick tonight, but don't think too hard, since you only have until dawn. "So? Who will you protect?" Ivan asks, so clearly, she's not going to let you think on it that long. character statuses profiles All night votes will be due 5PM EST two days after trial. |
FOXES ![]() Instead of waking up in the jungle, you wake up elsewhere. This is the square where the Foxes comes to decide what to do, and Ivan patiently sits on a bench. It's your job to pick someone to investigate. After all, you're saving them. You have a little while to think about who you'll pick tonight, but don't think too hard, since you only have until dawn. "So? Who do you want to know about?" Ivan asks, so clearly, she's not going to let you think on it that long. character statuses profiles All night votes will be due 5PM EST two days after trial. |
RULES OF THE HUNT " Life is for the strong, to be lived by the strong, and, if needs be, taken by the strong. The weak of the world were put here to give the strong pleasure. I am strong. Why should I not use my gift? If I wish to hunt, why should I not? " Welcome to the Hunt. All guests are expected to read and understand these rules, but help will not be provided. THE BASICS Each night, The General will pick a target to hunt. The prey may group together or even run, but The General and his Foxhounds have never lost their prey. As such, it is not recommended to keep in groups or to run, since both present significant danger for a messier death. Yet still, it is not fair for The General to simply hunt wild game, for it possesses no challenge. To assist the guests of the island in surviving, additional roles have been created so that the Hunt does not become a simple, brutish massacre. The ideal quarry must have courage, cunning, and, above all, it must be able to reason. ADDITIONAL ROLES Foxes are tasked with finding out their fellow guests' alliances. Every night, they may pick a guest and learn their alignment. Rainsford is tasked with protecting the guests. Every night, they may pick a guest, and if The General pursues that person, then the Hunt will fail. However, in the interest of cunning, these are the only roles recorded as absolutes. Other roles may or may not exist for the Hunt, since it is dependent on the character of each Hunt whether these additional roles are needed. VOTING Each day over a formal dinner, the guests may vote over who they think the killer is. They may vote, and the majority will rule. Abstaining from voting is a choice in itself, but it is not recommended, and the Overseer may discourage this action as they wish. The Overseer also has the ability to overrule the guests' decision once during the duration of the game. The person who is chosen by this majority will be executed. The Hunt will end when either The General has been killed or when The General has no more viable prey to hunt. |
