RAINSFORD Instead of waking up in the jungle, you wake up elsewhere. This is the square where Rainsford comes to decide what to do, and Ivan patiently sits on a bench. It's your job to pick someone to protect. After all, you're saving them. You have a little while to think about who you'll pick tonight, but don't think too hard, since you only have until dawn. "So? Who will you protect?" Ivan asks, so clearly, she's not going to let you think on it that long. rulebook character statuses profiles All night votes will be due 5PM EST two days after trial.

[ Well "patiently." By the time everyone wakes up, it seems like Ivan is only just barely composing herself. She has a stained handkerchief in hand, and it's clear she's been crying for quite a while. ]

( It takes him a moment to catch his bearings again. Where is he? This isn't where he went so sleep. He's quick to draw his sword in case this is a murderous trick of some sort (which he'd spent hours fearing since the sun went down). He'd heard everyone at the trial today. The General, his Hounds, Rainsford, and the Fox... Rainsford had to protect the Fox, the General was going to be after the Fox and Rainsford. They needed to stay alive, everyone was counting on them, they couldn't get caught... What if they found out? What if he'd messed up and they found out? What if the General got lucky?

Instead, he sees Ivan and he lowers his blade, )

Iván-san? ( She seems different from earlier in the day and he steps closer to get a better look, ) Ah... you were crying.

[foxhounds]

Yes... I'm sorry.

[ She looks up and shakes her head. ]

I hate seeing it... Every time someone dies, I hate seeing it.

NIGHT ONE: JASON

[ Ivan is calmer tonight, so it seems at least in a way, this night was more of what was supposed to happen. ]

( He fell asleep again. He knew he was tired before but he'd been so determined to stay awake... he looks around the ruins for a moment, trying to see into the jungle around them. He hasn't really had a chance to explore the island but he doesn't recognize this place during the day. Exactly where are they...? )

[x_over]

[ Kamui wakes up easily, not due to any special vampire senses, but - well, because he's hungry. It's an annoying sensation and he feels weak and too sensitive, more prone to irritation and anger. Which is why he's already frowning at Urashima.

Oh, and also because the sword boy recklessly voted off someone innocent. That, too. ]

NIGHT TWO: MAX

( GOD HELP ME )

night three

[ He wakes up first to gnawing hunger. In the dim light it's hard to tell if he is more pale than usual, expression wan and weary. His movements are more careful, less graceful, a little stiff. Regardless, he gets down to business once Urashima wakes up. There's a lot to do tonight. ]

( Urashima, meanwhile, wakes up with a purpose. As soon as he begins to stir, he's quick to jump up to his feet and search for Ivan and Kamui. He's hungry too-- anxiety upsetting his appetite in a way unfamiliar to him-- but he right now, there's work to be done. )

We have to protect him. ( His mind is already made up. ) We can't risk it!

NIGHT THREE: MATT

[ Ivan is waiting passively for them to wake up this time. Maybe she's getting more used to this too? ]

[ Unlike the other nights, Kamui wakes up slowly and with difficulty. The frantic gnawing of hunger is gone, leaving only an exhaustion that settles over him like fog. He leans tiredly against one of the pillars and nods slightly when he sees Ivan waiting for them. ]

( Ugh, just leave him alone tonight. It was hard enough to fall asleep and when he starts to stir, there's a tired whine and mumble about something to leave him alone.

Except he knows he can't be left alone. There's something that has to be done. Urashima sits up on the ground first, rubbing his eyes. Thank goodness it's dark because they're a little red and puffy still. When he hears Kamui he doesn't look up, still trying to get himself together, )

... Huh?

( Was he talking to him? Ugh, he's still exhausted give him a second to wake up at least. )

( And then he jumps up, wide awake )

Orion wasn't the other Fox! It wasn't him!

NIGHT FOUR: AUGER

[ Ivan is waiting passively for them to wake up this time. Maybe she's getting more used to this too? ]

( How is this only the fifth night... it feels longer. )

We should protect Auger again.

[x_over]

[ He won't deny that they probably should protect Auger, but. ]

You're in danger now, too, aren't you?
